Driving Operational Excellence: How a Trailer Part Supplier Transformed Warehouse and ERP Operations Across a Growing Multi-Site Network

A leading manufacturer and supplier of high-quality axles, doors, venting products, and related components, serves a wide range of industries including utility trailer, recreational vehicle (RV), heavy-duty transportation, and recreational boating. With a long-standing reputation for innovation, reliability, and customer-focused solutions, this trailer part supplier has become a trusted name across North America for both OEMs and aftermarket distributors. As the company continues to grow and evolve to meet the changing demands of its customers, they recognized the need to enhance the efficiency and performance of their warehouse operations. To support this goal and ensure they continue delivering best-in-class service,

Key Challenge

The trailer part supplier faced a highly complex transformation, needing to support both traditional warehouse fulfillment and walk-in showroom sales while simultaneously consolidating more than eight ERP systems into one platform. Ongoing acquisitions added further complexity, requiring rapid integration of new processes, terminology, and operating models across dozens of sites. These challenges were compounded by extended travel demands on core team members and varying levels of change adoption across locations, which impacted training and go-live effectiveness.

Solution

To address these challenges, a flexible WMS was implemented to support dual operational models and integrate seamlessly with the consolidated ERP environment. Alpine provided guidance throughout design and integration, helping translate acquired companies’ processes into the existing framework while identifying gaps and required enhancements. Alpine also supported change management by monitoring adoption risks, assisting overstretched sites, and helping teams distinguish between system, process, and user-related issues during training and go-lives.

Results

The initiative successfully brought three distribution centers and dozens of additional sites live on the new ERP and WMS platforms, supported by comprehensive, standardized process documentation across all business functions. A dedicated team was established to maintain alignment and drive continuous improvement across the network. With consistent processes, reusable training assets, and a scalable system foundation in place, the company is now positioned to grow efficiently while delivering reliable service across its expanding footprint.
