NAPLES, FL — June 17, 2024 Alpine Supply Chain Solutions, a boutique consulting firm specializing in optimizing supply chain investments, announced today that it has been honored with the Top Supply Chain Projects Award for 2024 by Supply & Demand Chain Executive and Food Logistics. The award profiles innovative case study-type projects designed to automate, optimize, streamline and improve the supply chain and shines a spotlight on exceptional transformation efforts that have a significant impact.

Alpine Supply Chain Solutions received this award for its work with HJI Supply Chain Solutions, a Louisville, KY based logistics services provider. When the implementation of their Körber Warehouse Management System (WMS) stalled, HJI reached out to Alpine for support. Alpine quickly conducted a Best Practice Analysis to determine the company’s current and future WMS requirements and developed a plan for HJI to get back on track with their Körber implementation. Alpine provided various implementation support services including:

  • Developing a full acceptance test plan to assist with the execution and documentation of the user acceptance testing process.
  • Documenting work instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Serving as the communication conduit between Körber WMS, ERP providers, and the HJI team.

In the end, The implementation was a success and, in the process, HJI was able to broaden and deepen its solution knowledge base. HJI has since successfully rolled the Körber solution out to a larger facility in Louisville and two additional facilities in Memphis.

According to Shane Allgeier, HJI’s Chief Operating Officer, “Alpine proved to be the right partner at the right time. They quickly assessed our situation and got our WMS implementation back on track. In the end, they helped us maximize the investment we had already made in our supply chain technology – saving us both time and money. And, by taking a leadership role on the implementation, we were able to focus on our daily operations and what matters most to us – providing peace of mind to our customers.”

“The past 12 months has seen companies within the supply chain and logistics space upgrade, enhance, adopt and adapt in order to achieve greater efficiency along the chain. Companies implemented others’ software and technology to work smarter, together. Their partnerships cultivated resilience and placed a spotlight on projects designed to make the supply chain space safer and more efficient,” says Marina Mayer, Editor-in-Chief of Supply & Demand Chain Executive and Food Logistics. “And, now it’s time to celebrate those projects!”
