Alpine tackled the challenge by analyzing inventory data to prioritize high-impact SKUs and focus on what mattered most. They introduced a “Proxy Dimension” strategy, grouping similar items to reduce the need for individual measurements. This efficient approach cut time and costs while ensuring reliable data accuracy.
In just six weeks, Alpine captured dimensions for 10,578 SKUs—exceeding the target by 124%. The accurate data enabled the company to optimize its warehouse layout and space utilization, significantly improving operational efficiency. These results laid the groundwork for stronger supply chain performance.
